i don't know what's beyond distraught, but honey, that's what i am. the thought of this had made me sick. i was pretty much a wreck when the sopranos ended, but felt sure that there would be a movie one day. never occurred to me that james would up & die. i pray to the relevant gods that there is a downton movie. i'm sure i'll buy the entire series at some point. i mean, to have to I've life not hearing mrs. patter & mrs. hughes? do i really want to live in a world like that?
1. i apologize for the "mrs. patter." you know i know who mrs. pattmore is. 2. i don't remember if i was here before or after i'd watched. the show felt especially soap-opera-y to me, but i loved that. 3. and speaking of mrs. pattmore, bet she's a top & mr. mason a bottom.
I saw it too thanks to live streaming from the U.K. Otherwise, I'd have had to wait 'til January for the last season to begin and I didn't have the patience to wait it out.
Wonderful Downton Christmas special wrap-up. Very emotional, indeed but neatly tied up in a bow.

ReplyDeleteHow apposite. We just finished watching it, and it was wonderful - but we did have tears in our eyes. The end of an era, indeed. Jx
DeletePS The Dowager, Mrs Patmore, Mrs Hughes, Lady Cora and the rest will live in our hearts (and ears) forever...
The final season will begin here in a couple weeks. We may all have to have a smelling salts party.

She's handy with an appropriately sized rolling pin. Jx

A large, 1920s, immaculately-dressed, glittering, tiara-ed, and heavily-emotional bow, indeed! Jx
