Can even feathers, fouff and faff save us now?

Aaaaaarggghhh!

After a rather lovely sixteen days away - it's time to face the shit all over again, and I am really not in the mood for all this. People had better keep their heads down - "Mama's diet pill is wearing off..."

Meanwhile...

...it is a Tacky Music Monday, regardless - and we need something spectacular to serve as a wake-up call!

With memories of Spain slowly fading into the ether, here's one of that country's finest, the very lovely, late, great Rocio Durcal with a whole scream [I assume that is the correct collective noun] of safety gays (and what could well be her mother and her auntie, to boot), and a number that really fits the bill perfectly:

Have a good week, dear reader. I won't.

Mucho gusto

[A view up my back passage]

{The wreckage of the ghastly tree that used to shade our midday garden - one down, several more to go]

Another glorious day - and it is a Bank Holiday, to boot!

After moving just about everything in the garden around yesterday, today was just a day for pottering, and basically enjoying the sunshine, topping up the tans.

Despite being still in lockdown and unable to go anywhere, the weather has made it all a bit more bearable. I just hope this self-isolation business all lifts before we start planning our next holiday to Spain...

...because on this Tacky Music Monday, here's the effervescent Señorita Durcal to remind us of the kind of entertainment we've become accustomed to expect!

Have a good week, dear reader.

So many safety gays, so little time

Groan.

Freezing, dark, dank - all adjectives that really do not encourage one to leap out of bed and embrace the day. On the whole, I'd rather be in bed...

...or, on this Tacky Music Monday, in Spain - with the late, great Señorita Rocío Dúrcal and her safety gays!

"Where are our times, the flowers and the champagne?"

Indeed.

Have a good week, dear reader.

Flores en Lunes

Oh dear. Monday again.

Never mind, only four days to go and I am on leave, then Saturday at stupid o'clock we will be on a flight from Stansted to Malaga!

On this Tacky Music Monday we continue our countdown to Spain in the company of the very special Señorita Rocío Dúrcal! Taking a lead from our adored Sara Montiel (who sang this first), she's flogging flowers while showing her knickers (as you do)...

¡Que tengas una buena semana!

Más bonita

Tacky Music Mondays are a long-serving tradition here at Dolores Delargo Towers, and inevitably (just to cheer us up) serve to showcase divas (or wannabees) with big hair/voices/shoes, perhaps some gender-bending, preposterous dance routines involving tight-trousered "safety gays", and loads of arm-waving, gesticulating and over-emoting.

Or - as we start our countdown to our much-needed holiday in Spain on Saturday - in the case of the late, great Spanish flamenco star Rocío Dúrcal, all of the above in one appearance!

This is a badly-cut clip from her movie Más bonita que ninguna, but the camp extravaganza starts around four minutes in...
