I may not actually be in work today, but even so a weekend is a good enough excuse for celebration.

And this weekend, we're off on a brief jaunt to sunny Dorking (only staying Sunday night) to celebrate our friend Lou's fiftieth birthday in suitable style.

It's almost over...

The first week back in work after a holiday is always excruciating, but we went to a "Pop-up Polari" last night, and tonight we have "The Big Bang Ball" to celebrate LGBT History Month, so all is well with the world.

What a slow and strange week this has been! Starting with a heatwave, ending with typically autumnal gales, with a brief visit to the RHS Autumn Show in between...

Never mind all that, we're off to the National Portrait Gallery tonight for an event called Glamour Factory, which promises to recreate some of the magic of Hollywood with makeovers, style tips, cabaret and cocktails - all to accompany their Glamour of the Gods photo exhibition (which of course we are going to view as well).

Meanwhile, if you are not coming along to make yourself glamorous with us, why not just cover yourself with bits of old material from the bottom of your wardrobe just like Miss Cheryl Lynn, and boogie along with her timeless classic Got To Be Real? One of my favourites - Thank Disco It's Friday!
