Happy 45th birthday today to one of the kookiest characters of French chanson, Mlle Sabine Paturel!
Hardly a household name here in the UK (we rarely have much time for French pop in our charts, with the possible exception of one-hit-wonder (and Mrs Johnny Depp) Vanessa Paradis - oh, and Charles Aznavour, of course), nevertheless this - the lovely Sabine's only major hit even in her homeland - is a house favourite here at Dolores Delargo Towers.
