In private

Our internet is up, then down, then up, then down. Last time we lost web access, it lasted three days. I was distraught.

However, who really cares as long as we have a weekend to look forward to?

Let's really push the boat out today, with possibly the classiest of classy (ha ha) numbers to get our parties started!

It's none other than the multi-talented Miss Britt Ekland, who invites us to her Private Party...

Thank Disco It's Friday!

Have a good one!

The bimbo at 70

[More leopardskin!]

As James Bond fever is in the news - it was the 50th anniversary yesterday of Dr No, the first in the series - so we celebrate the 70th birthday(!) of Miss Mary Goodnight, better known as Swedish bombshell Britt Ekland!

Never quite the star, always cast as "the bimbo" (in movies such as Get Carter, Percy and The Wicker Man), she appeared to replicate the role in real life with her headline-grabbing romances with superstars such as Peter Sellers and Rod Stewart (he wrote You're In My Heart for her). She was indeed one of the faces of the 1970s.

Since then she seems to have retained a sort of "cult/treasure" status, with recent cameos in Ab Fab, Grumpy Old Women and Loose Women - and even panto. But who remembers that she tried a solo singing career?

Here, from 1979, is her not-quite-a-hit Do It To Me (Once More With Feeling)...

Grattis på födelsedagen! (Which I think is Happy Birthday in Swedish.)
