Amor, amor, amor

It's Tapas, apparently, not a token of - ahem - love.

Ho hum. "St Hallmark's Day" is upon us - a day that sees hordes of bedraggled yoof buying equally bedraggled bunches of red flowers and clogging the supermarket queues, the only day in the calendar that such horrors as rose-scented chocolates are ever a "thing", and when sales of made-in-China fluffy toys with sickly "love" slogans go up.

I have always hated it, needless to say [see here and here for previous rants].

However, I have found an (hilariously) appropriate song to add to our countdown to Spain, which complements the mood perfectly...

I hope you have a tear in your eye after that one [from laughing, most likely!].

Dance Ten, Looks Three?

As we mourn the fact that during this lovely weather - a heatwave is predicted in London this week - we will be sitting, bored and trapped behind our desks, under an inevitably broken-down air-con system, there is still cause to celebrate!

Fortuitously on this Tacky Music Monday, it happens to be the 60th birthday of one Audrey Landers ("Afton Cooper" in Dallas, and "Val" in A Chorus Line - big number: Dance: Ten; Looks: Three, appropriately). So what better to raise our spirits than not one, but two of the lady's joyous pop "hits"?

First up, she smiles through this suitably sunny number (and oh! That Frock)...

...and here, in the company of some very cheesy safety gays (one of whom looks suspiciously like a "resting" Village Person), she mimes - ahem! - brilliantly:

"Never wanna dance"? She certainly doesn't.

Have a great week folks - and grab what sunshine you can while you can!

Tits and Ass

Another weekend has rocketed by, and here we are nursing our coffees again at some unearthly hour, steeling ourselves for the world of the office...

Hey ho, on this Tacky Music Monday I have uncovered something genuinely, 100% tacky to cheer us up - it's birthday girl Judy Landers (who?) and her equally plastic sister Audrey [who sang Dance: Ten; Looks: Three aka "Tits and Ass!" in the movie version of A Chorus Line], mugging it up for the camera on the amazing Teach Me How to Rock:

Oh, the 80s...

Have a great week, peeps!

PS Is it just me, or is every damn video on YouTube opening "mute" lately..?
