Pressure and Parisi

Yep. It's that time again.

Pook! That weekend just flew by - now it's time for work once more...

As we gaze vacantly upon the prospect of another week of edifying delights, on this Tacky Music Monday there's always the bizarre world of good ol' Italian televsion "spectaculars" to get us fired up - inevitably featuring the adorably (ahem) talented Miss Heather Parisi and her safety gays!

Gobsmacking.

Have a good week, dear reader.

Just too good to be true?

RIP, Jane Withers. Anyone who made Shirley Temple cry was my kind of gal.

The start of week #2 of my leave, and the forecast is still utter shit - there is a glimmer of sunshine at this very moment, but all around, the rain-clouds are gathering (and will do for the foreseeable future). Sigh.

Never mind, eh? Who needs unwavering sunshine and settled weather when we can wallow in the utter ridiculousness of Italian television?

Put your hands together, dear reader, for the Queen of Tacky Music Monday Miss Heather Parisi!

I'm exhausted now!

Have a good week, peeps...

Shoes, and ships, and sealing-wax

The time has come, the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes, and ships, and sealing-wax,
Of cabbages and kings
And why the sea is boiling hot
And whether pigs have wings.

- Lewis Carroll "The Walrus and the Carpenter"

In what little daylight I actually saw on the weekend [I am a complete "night owl" and treasure my long lie-ins on Saturday and Sunday], the weather was lovely and mild with blue skies, perfect for a bit of pottering and basking. Now, like a flash, it's over again, and I am reaching for the bloody work laptop...

Never be despondent however, dear reader, when on this Tacky Music Monday there's the utter madness of Miss Heather Parisi [singing about sealing wax for some fuck-knows-why reason], lots of glitter and spandex, safety gays and bizarre almost-but-not-quite-right frenetic dancing to save the day!

Italian television spectaculars. They never fail to deliver, even if our jaws are now on the ground.

Have a good week...

Luna-cy

After another faboo weekend - shopping and a show; business as usual, really - we've arrived not only at the start of another week in the benighted office, but the Autumn Equinox, to boot. Nights are officially longer than days from here, dears!

Sob.

Never mind, eh? Why be glum, when there's another insane Italian television spectacular ready to cheer us up on this Tacky Music Monday?!

Miss Parisi is our saviour. Have a good week, dear reader!

What's the Italian for "spandex"?

Sigh. Monday again.

Never mind, dear reader. We always have the bizarre world of prime-time Italian telly to take our minds off the drudgery of another week in the office.

On this Tacky Music Monday, here's the indisputable Queen of that genre to perk us up - Miss Heather Parisi!

Such talent.

Have a good week, peeps.

Ham, man, and more ham

It's been quite a weekend of exploration.

On Saturday, we went for a meandering walk from Richmond-upon-Thames to the historic Ham House, and across the river by "Totty Ferry" [see above] to the eccentric waterside villas of Twickenham (York House with its "Naked Ladies" fountain [below], and Orleans House, now a gallery), before seeking respite in the local hostelries.

Yesterday we dodged the thunderstorms again to traverse the final stretches of North London's "New River" (ahem; it opened in 1613!) - which was, admittedly, less picturesque but nonetheless a delightful little diversion.

Today - just as the weather turns more settled and summery again, of course - it's time to head off to the far less historic, diverting, or even remotely interesting world of the office. Hey ho.

Let's let something completely mad into our lives this Tacky Music Monday... How about Heather Parisi tapping her brains out on prime time Italian TV to a jazz classic by Dave Brubeck? That should bloody well cheer us all up!

Take Five, indeed.

Have a fantabulosa week, dears.

I am jingling...

It is our last Tacky Music Monday, dear reader, before tackiness of all kinds truly envelops us, courtesy of this "festering season"...

Who better to wake us up, as we (some of us, at least) stagger into work for a couple more days, than the Queen of Trash (Italian TV-style) Miss Heather Parisi?! Here, she and her finocchi sicurezza* pay a tuneful tribute to that most godawful of Xmas songs, Jingle Bells:

Fantastico, indeed.

[*finocchi - fennel, type of plant from the parsley family (Botany), queer, fairy, gay, homosexual person; sicurezza - safety, security, emergency.]

Life is like a beautiful melody

“Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up.”
― Hans Christian Andersen

It's Monday again. Ho hum, never mind.

To take our minds off such mundanities as work, rain, cold, dark and everything else, on this Tacky Music Monday let's have some glitter and sparkle instead!

Courtesy of the supremely talented Miss Heather Parisi and her gorgeous band of not-gay-at-all writhing boys and not-tarty-at-all writhing girls, here's the very lovely (you will agree) It Sounds Like a Melody!

Would it be churlish of me to say at this point "no, it doesn't"?

Ah, the joys of 1980s Italian TV...

Sopra le righe!!

Here at Dolores Delargo Towers we never tire of that delightful and unique source of "entertainment", the Italian TV spectacular!

Why ask for quality primetime weekend television when you can have sweatbands, instantly forgettable music, leggings, spangles, boobs, Lycra and frenetic dancing? Just don't mention the clowns, OK?

Bambini avere paura!

Another start to another dull week in work... On this Tacky Music Monday, trust the Italians to bring us another wildly kitsch entertainer to brighten up our gloomy morning. Put your hands together for the lovely Heather Parisi!! Enjoy...
