Every day seems a lifetime

Noooooooo!

After a gorgeous sixteen days away, it's time for reality to kick in. It's time to get the bloody laptop out of the cupboard, and get back to work! I am in no way ready for this...

Our beloved Kessler Twins would have celebrated their 90th birthdays last Friday, so, on this Tacky Music Monday, only they can save us now!

Probably my favourite camp dance routine, ever. Madam Arcati and I have practised it many times and still can't get it right...

Have a good week, dear reader. I won't!

Um samba como esse tão lega

Wakey, wakey! It's Monday again...

After a weekend that saw Madam A and I in Cadogan Hall for a performance of Fauré's Requiem, followed by a day of basically monging-around - because the fine weather on Saturday turned to utterly dismal rain yesterday - it's all over again, and off we go to the hurly-burly of another working week...

Sigh.

Thank heavens, on this Tacky Music Monday, for our long-time house faves here at Dolores Delargo Towers, the Kessler Twins!! [...and their safety gays, of course...]

Have a good week, dear reader.

Ich werde meine Knie rouge auftragen und rolle meine Strümpfe runter

I love Mondays...

I must have blinked and missed the weekend, for here I am again, dear reader, dealing with the same old, same old work stuff again...

We need something jolly to wake us up!

It's been far too long since I have featured anything by old faves the Kessler Twins (still going; they hit their 85th birthday milestone in August!), so when I stumbled across this slice of cheesiness, where the girls are paired with the man who was once considered "Germany's answer to Elvis", I just knew it would be perfect for this a Tacky Music Monday ...

Have a good week, dear reader.

More Kessler Twins here, here, and - in one of our favourite camp videos/Scopitones of all time - here.

Old Masters, soft tempo and the Boy From Ipanema

No, not a Dutch Old Master - our glorious tulips!

With the ongoing lockdown combined with me being on leave and this glorious sunshine, we have inevitably spent days on end getting our extensive gardens into some semblance of order in readiness for the summer. The most congested pots have been split up and repotted, we've recycled old soil as well as managing to get hold of some new (thank you, Wilko!), and rescued some precious specimens that last year were overshadowed under more vigorous growers. It's going to be a lovely show again this season, to cheer us up in these dark times, of that I'm certain...

Meanwhile, as we face the prospect that we still won't be able to go anywhere except home and the remaining "essential shops" and nothing in-between [we're not exactly the "exercising" types], let's console ourselves with a little venture into the exotic lives of glamorous people from other lands - courtesy of the simply faboo Soft Tempo Lounge.

All this - and house favourites here at Dolores Delargo Towers the Kessler Twins, too!

Ah, that's better...

Every day seems a lifetime

Just because...

...it has been a bitch of a day with endless increasingly dull meetings - here's an old fave from the vaults [and yes! I have featured it several times; but one just cannot have too much shimmying]. Make way for the Kessler Sisters!

Fly me to...1968?

He needs to cool down a bit

As our unexpected heatwave gives way to humid, muggy conditions with a distinct threat of rain, so we need to find a way to escape.

And what better way than on a 1968 BOAC trip across the USA...

Every moment's a day; every day seems a lifetime

It was a really busy weekend (a verrrry late drunken Saturday following our friend Alex-the-Journo-slut's birthday bash, and a hungover visit yesterday to the V&A for an LGBT-themed examination of the museum's collections - more of that in due course, no doubt), so it feels especially stressful having to get up and out to the office (particularly in this freezing weather).

It's been ages since I have played this "house favourite" here at Dolores Delargo Towers, but, on this Tacky Music Monday only the Kessler Twins can possibly lift this miserable mood...

It's Quando, Quando, Quando time again!

I'd be doing the dance moves round the living room if I wasn't in danger of spilling my coffee or dropping my fag.

Double the fun

Just in case you thought I had neglected the "pick-me-up" element that is so traditional on a Tacky Music Monday here at Dolores Delargo Towers, here's an added bonus, in the form of the fantabulosa house favourites the Kessler Twins!

I am practising the dance steps as we speak...

Chicken and Champagne and Twins

Hey ho - another new week in work begins. Another day, another dollar...

To raise our spirits, on this Tacky Music Monday I believe a little dose of Dolores Delargo Towers stalwarts the Kessler Twins is in order!

The girls' Quando Quando Quando is an all-time favourite, but I can't help but think Pollo e Champagne may well be a new entry on this year's festive party playlist. Madame Arcati and I have practised both routines, of course, but we can't quite get the timing right...

Let Alice and Ellen show us how it should be done!

Die Kessler-Zwillinge celebrated their 75th birthdays this year, and are still going strong...

Let me show you the way to a joy beyond compare

It may be a bank holiday, official Boxing Day, or whatever - but in my world it is forever Tacky Music Monday!

To cheer everyone up in this mad world of sales and sub-zero temperatures, here's another house favourite here at Dolores Delargo Towers, the eternally vivacious Kessler Sisters!

Quando Quando Quando
Tell me when will you be mine
Tell me quando quando quando
We can share a love divine
Please don't make me wait again

When will you say yes to me
Tell me quando quando quando
You mean happiness to me
Oh my lover tell me when

Every moment's a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare

I can't wait a moment more
Tell me quando quando quando
Say its me that you adore
And then darling tell me when

Every moment's a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare

I can't wait a moment more
Tell me quando quando quando
Say its me that you adore
And then darling tell me when

How life should be

This is how Madam Arcati and I prefer to spend our Sundays...
