I'm gonna bounce up and down on my spring

Yes! I've returned from a whirlwind weekend with Baby Steve and Houseboy Alex, trawling the garden centres of Essex, and have come back with quite a haul:

Meanwhile, fuck the Pope - we're in mourning for the lovely Clodagh Rodgers...

...and by way of a celebration - and perfect for a Tacky Music Monday - here she is!

RIP Clodagh Rodgers (5th March 1947 – 18th April 2025)

Have a good week, peeps - I will; I'm off until next Monday!

Deeper love

Nicotiana mutabilis

It is (another) Bank Holiday here in the UK - our last until the end of August! - and my last day of freedom to potter in the extensive gardens here Dolores Delargo Towers before going back to work tomorrow. Groan.

However, I haven't forgotten it is also a Tacky Music Monday! To celebrate two things that cheered us up immensely over the weekend - the Eurovision Song Contest (of course), and the momentous public vote for legalisation of gay marriage in (of all places) Ireland - who else could I choose to entertain us than the lovely Clodagh Rodgers from Ballymena (4th-placed for the UK at Eurovision in 1971) and her (possibly appropriately-titled) number Love Is Deep Inside Of Me?

Happy days, indeed.

Livin' on the music so fine

Today is Paddy's Day - the day that everyone in the world is supposed to drink Guinness and believe in leprechauns and stuff like that, allegedly.

It is also another Tacky Music Monday (too soon, too soon again after a gorgeous sunny weekend) - and what better way to celebrate than with one of the Emerald Isle's finest [OK, I know she was born in Ulster and is thus British, but hey ho] Miss Clodagh Rodgers, here dancing in what appears to be a windswept bog with her suitably chirpy safety aerachs

It's Night Fever as the Gibb brothers probably never imagined it...

Have a good week, peeps!

Sweet and Scary

The pink fairy-dust has settled after a most spectacular Pride weekend! We spent yesterday here at Dolores Delargo Towers resting our tired limbs, and thankfully neither of us is working today.

Nevertheless, this is once again a Tacky Music Monday, and in recognition of that fact here is a remarkably odd video to cheer up those of us who are starting the slog back to work for another week of unbridled joy - it's the lovely Clodagh Rodgers (being stalked by some rather scary mime artistes) with Sweet Sweet Boy:

Miss Rodgers was 65 years old earlier this year, which is a bit of a jolt to the system for those of us who clearly remember her Eurovision appearance with Jack in the Box...

I'm gonna jump up and down on my spring

Today we celebrate the birthday of one of those long-lost girlie singers of the 60s and 70s, Miss Clodagh Rodgers. For a while, she really was the toast of the "MOR wave" - permanent guest star on the Cliff Richard Show, winner of the "best legs in show business" award in 1969 and an NME award in 1970. Then, of course, came her really big break, and she was forever doomed to be remembered for this slice of inanity...

Ah, the delights of Eurovision!

Happy Friday!!
