Where the party always started

Another dull, dark week is sloping slowly to its conclusion. We're sick of the sight of Ursula von der Leyen and Emmanuel Macron, as well as Kay Burley, Greta Thunberg and that orange twat squatting in the White House. Shit carols and Mariah-fucking-Carey are unavoidable, it looks increasingly likely London's going into "tier three" COVID restrictions in time for the Festering Season, and we're wearing black armbands in mourning for the lovely Babs Windsor - what we really need is a party!

What better way to imagine such a thing than with a classic number from the late, great Dan Hartman (who would have been 70 years old this week), accompanied by a video of a semi-naked Ryanne Phillippe cavorting in the decadence of Studio 54?

Thank Disco It's Friday, indeed!

Have a good weekend, dear reader!

This is the moment I've been waiting for

This is NOT the look I'll be going for this weekend.

And so another week crawls tediously to its close... The weather has been up and down like a whore's drawers again (pissing down this morning, clear blue skies and sunshine as lunchtime approached, then more chilly rain, and so on), and it shows no signs of settling into any kind of pattern other than miserable.

However, I do have a party to look forward to tomorrow - the 50th birthday of our friend Piers, at the luxurious Rivoli Ballroom in Sarf London, no less! What better way to get the festivities started than in the company of the effervescent Mr Dan Hartman (whose birthday it would have been tomorrow; RIP)?

This is it, this is the moment I've been waiting for
Hold me even tighter, I need your loving more
You're the one I adore, you more than satisfy, oh oh oh

This is it, this is the time and the place for love
Ooh we got this fast to a heaven above?
Ooh leave your troubles behind - love is yours and mine

This is my destiny, that you're so right for me
And then I give to you a feeling so true, when you're here next to me
Ooh, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I, ooh I do
And you know all the while, it's making me smile
Before you returned, I know why I yearned

This is it, this is the top of the world for me
Oh, we get to act out our fantasy
Make it reality – and fly it to the Moon
And love will play the tune

Ah, this is it, this is it, this is love, love, love
Ah, this is it, this is it, this is love, love, love
Oh, this is it, this is it, this is love, love, love

Love, love, love that song!

Have a great weekend, dear reader...

There's a new day on the other side (yeah)

I could sit and watch this all day

This week has dragged, but the end is in sight...

As we gather ourselves for the celebrations, let's perk ourselves up in the company of a semi-naked Ryan Phillippe [in the film 54], and the estimable talents of today's birthday boy Dan Hartman (RIP) - and Thank Disco It's Friday!

Help me escape this feelin' of insecurity
I need you so much but I don't think you really need me
But if we all stand up in the name of love
And state the case of what we're dreamin' of
I've got to say I only dream of you
But like a thief in the night
You took away the love that I knew

Relight my fire (Well)
Your love is my only desire
Relight my fire
Cos I need your love

Turn back the time to the days when our love was new
Do you remember?
No matter what was happenin' I was there with you
But if we all stand up for what we believe
And maybe live within our possibilities
The world would be wild for the dream
So baby don't turn away
Listen to what I gotta say

Relight my fire
Your love is my only desire
Relight my fire
Cos I need... oh I need your love

Strong enough to walk on through the night (yeah)
There's a new day on the other side (yeah)
You got to have hope in your soul
Just keep on walkin' yeah, just keep on walkin' yeah

Relight my fire
Your love is my only desire
Relight my fire
Cos I need your love

Have a great weekend, dears.

Do the Mash

At the end of what has felt like one of the longest weeks of my life, returning to work, in the dark, after two weeks with my legs up (not as much fun as it sounds), I am in desperate need of some party music to lighten my mood and encourage me into my leopardskin roller-disco boots...

To that end I have discovered a most magnificent disco mash-up by an evident genius of that genre by the name of Robin Skouteris.

It features Miss Ross, Dan Hartman (who would have been 62 tomorrow), Donna Summer, Lipps Inc and many more - Thank Disco It's Friday!

Hope your weekend's a great one!!

Guys and Gals

It's time again to showcase a few numbers that have recently caught our ears here at Dolores Delargo Towers.

First up, its the new one from house favourite and sexy demi-god of electro, the lovely Tiga - What You Need:

In complete contrast, here's a new trashy diva that no-one's heard of, with her new (very catchy) single and a very gay video indeed! Laydeez'n'gentlemen, give it up for the [cough!] supremely talented Pretty Mess Miss Erika Jayne...

From the ridiculous to the sublime, here's Crystal Castles featuring none other than the "national treasure" of the Goth world, Mr Robert Smith and Not In Love:

And, in recognition of the fact that the late, great Dan Hartman would have been 60 years old today, here's one of his most famous songs. I love this!

As always, enjoy!
