I wrote a song; I feel much better now

Yay! It is almost the weekend and, once again, for that we are extremely grateful.

It is, however (disappointingly) continuing to piss down out there, and it doesn't look like there's much relief in sight....

...never mind, eh? Here's Sheila and her lovely safety gays, in loads of tinfoil and lycra, to take our minds off it - and to Thank Disco It's Friday!

Have a great weekend (sleet or no sleet), dear reader!

PS

The UK has just announced its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in May this year - and it is a bit of an earworm, I must admit:

Let me know your thoughts on that one.

Laughing at clouds so dark above

The lovely run of warm sunshine we've been enjoying for the past couple of weeks has been well-and-truly broken - it's pissing down out there; just in time for our Mother's first visit to London post-lockdown tomorrow [it will be the first time we have actually seen her in the flesh since 2019, in fact]!

Typical.

Never mind, eh? We simply must adhere to tradition, and get the party started to welcome in the weekend!

So, dear reader, let's squeeze ourselves into the tightest, silveriest clothing in our wardrobes, fix those the cheesy grins, practice the tacky dance moves for a most appropriate number from Mademoiselle Sheila and her sexy boys - and Thank Disco It's Friday!

Have a fab weekend peeps, whatever the weather!

Relax

Thank heavens for that. It's almost the end of a most trying week - as I settle into the complexities and extraneous pressures of my new role, I am very grateful at the prospect of a long Bank Holiday weekend ahead!

To get the party started, how about an old, old fave? It's Miss Sheila and her B Devotion boys versus the sexy Mika [both Leos, incidentally - born on the same day, 18th August] and the song that always makes me think of holidays, Relax (Take it Easy):

Thank Disco it's (Bank Holiday) Friday!

Corne d'abondance

Today is a special one for our Froggie chums - their National Day Le quatorze juillet, or Bastille Day, when the French celebrate all things garlicky, cheesy and wine-y.

Or something.

To mark this auspicious day, I'm feeling like a bit of a bop, so here are a couple of our own upbeat French favourites at Dolores Delargo Towers...

First up, the Gallic answer to Miss Minoque - Dannii, not Kylie - it's the very lovely, and very gay-friendly Mademoiselle Ysa Ferrer. She's a Pom-Pom Girl!

Continuing the particularly French way with starting names with a "Y", here's Yelle and the marvellous A Cause Des Garcons:

And finally, here introduced by Lady Penelope, is the kitsch-tastic Sheila and Black Devotion with a number that probably I would normally feature in my "Thank Disco It's Friday" slot...

Vive la folie!

With a happy refrain

And so the rain returns, just in time for the weekend.

Never mind, eh? We have a gang outing to see the new production of Torch Song Trilogy at the Menier Chocolate Factory to look forward to this evening, and Sheila and B. Devotion are here to cheer us up!

Time to grab your favourite skin-tight metallic silver go-go gear, and get bopping - with a most appropriate number indeed, Singing in the Rain:

Have a fab weekend!

A star cha-a-aser

As it is such a miserable Monday, I firmly believe that what the world needs is a little bit of Sheila, here with Mika in tow, to cheer us all up...
