Destination fairly obvious, I'd say

Praise be! Another weekend is looming, and the sun is out (at last)!

Today also happens to be the birthday of the marvellous Miss Crystal Waters, so to get the party jumping, here's an utterly faboo choon from her back catalogue [no - not the "la-da-dee-da-da-da" one]...

If, dear reader, you find the gyrations of those strumpets-with-trumpets is a bit unexpected of a blog of a homosexualist nature such as this, never fear...

Let's address the balance somewhat, with a bevy of boys - and Thank Disco Cher It's Friday!

That's better.

Have great weekend, my leetle chums!

Dear Santa...

OK! OK! I give in.

The lovely Gay Santa (aka Andrew Christian) and his elves have been persuading me to get my letter in quick - otherwise all my dreams this festering season won't come true...

...oh, and also to:

Buy!

More!

Underpants!

I may agree to the latter, as long as these hunky "elves" are still in them when they arrive.

By the way - the video's title says "uncensored", so if you do happen to open this at work - blame Santa!

The countdown's almost over, folks...

Melodieën voor u

I think it's time for possibly the last in 2013 of my almost-regular round-ups of the newer music that has caught my ear. I will of course ignore the latest from the saintly Mrs Knowles-Carter, whose album has hit the headlines this week, as I don't like her; and also dear Robbie Williams (his second go at swing music is a bit half-arsed) and dear Sophie Ellis-Bexter (whose new album generally sounds a bit miserable). Hey ho, on with the game...

Firstly (and thanks again to the lovely Henry at Barbarella's Galaxy for letting us know about it), we applaud the return of a real blast from the past - Gala (she of Freed From Desire fame, seventeen years ago)! Here's Taste of Me:

The boy called Aiden is evidently angry about his relationship, and wants to tell us about it. Poor thing - why wouldn't anyone want to take him up on his offer to Satisfy Me?

Taking us on a nostalgia trip right back to the 80s (it's trendy now, apparently!), here's Echoes and Can't Fight The Feeling. [2019 UPDATE: The band is now called Ekkoes, and the song is Fight The Feeling]

We can immediately jump a decade for the sounds that inspired our next track, courtesy of Manchester's Techniques and Switch. It's rather addictive in a 90s house-y way...

Sticking firmly with the club grooves, here's the diva-tastic new single from Breach, featuring the massive vocals of one Andreya Triana...

With a video reminiscent of early John Waters movies, here's a song that offers more than a slight nod to Jayne County, and even to the B52s - it's RuPaul's Drag Idol winner Sharon Needles and the totally bizarre Why Do You Think You are Nuts?:

I think we deserve a bit of eye candy after that - and who better to provide it than a pair of Scandinavians in their scanties, calling themselves Man Meadow? The song's quite good, too:

And finally... speaking of totty, apparently this Andrew Christian video featuring her song Take It Like A Man was sent to Cher as a gift. She liked it so much she posted it on her YouTube site:

As ever, enjoy - and let me know what you think!

Pop potpurri

Time for another round-up of some of the newer music that has caught my ear lately...

Let's get this one out of the way first. Our favourite Spice Girl, Miss Geri Halliwell has made a rather half-hearted attempt at a comeback with her new self-penned single Half of Me. Not likely to put a dent anywhere near the charts, methinks. Bless 'er!

A far more classy musical comeback has been in our hearts, minds and ears all year - that of David Bowie! Here's his latest, Love is Lost - with a new "Hello Steve Reich Mix" by James Murphy that pays glowing tribute to the classic Ashes to Ashes...

A word from our sponsor... Here's a trailer for the new album Quicksilver from our friend, the "macabre" Mr Marcus Reeves (whose launch show I hope to get to see at the Lost Theatre in Wandsworth on 22nd November)...

[2019 UPDATE: Needless to say (as a trailer), this is no longer on YouTube]

Guitar-based American "alternative" rock bands are not normally my first choice in music, but the band calling itself The Neighbourhood has a rather good choon out (and video - watch out for a flash of the lead singer's own "neighbourhood"!) - it's the hypnotic Afraid:

Another welcome return - the lovely Mr Boy George, who asks "What's the word on the street? Have I lost my crown, or will I be king again?". Judging by the excellence of his latest single King of Everything, he has little to worry about apart from dodgy facial hair:

Something very new, now. Dropkick is the musical project of Give 'em the old Razzle Dazzle regular Cusp, obviously a great talent in the waiting. Here's the remarkably Scissor-Sisters-esque Trapdoor - it's rather fab, actually!

While still recovering from the rumbustious cabaret provided by Miss Eve Ferret last Monday (and we're going to see her again tomorrow!), I looked up her erstwhile partner-in-crime from the New Romantic era at Steve Strange's "Blitz" club Mr James "Biddie" Biddlecombe, and came across this hilarious clip - I've Never Been In Boyz. I just had to share...

And finally, we may be a little late for Hallowe'en, but here is the latest ever-fabulous underwear advertising campaign from Andrew Christian. These boys can Suck...

As ever, enjoy! (And let me know what you think...)
