I's like thunder, lightning, the way you love me is frightenin'

RIP, André Leon Talley

I may be off again today, but I haven't forgotten our traditional way to welcome in a weekend - forget the grey, cold, gloomy weather; try on that preposterous "twisted-balloon" crown one more time...and get ready to party like (Sinitta's auntie) Miss Amii Stewart!

Thank Disco It's Friday!

It'll get you nowhere

Almost the weekend, sweeties - and fingers crossed there's going to be some great weather to look forward to...

After the dressing-up excesses of last week's Gay Pride, I feel we should stick to wearing something more subtle. Just some papier mâché peacock-feather shoulder-pads and an Egyptian frock... like Miss Amii Stewart!

Jealousy? There will be some. Thank Disco It's Friday!

Enjoy...

Try to set the night on fire

Still reeling from the champagne-fuelled, celeb-charged (and slightly controversial - oo-er) Stonewall Awards ceremony last night (more of that later, no doubt), I am looking forward to the weekend more than ever. Keep repeating: "Just one more day. Seven little hours to go."

To celebrate the end of another busy week, here's the ever-lovely Miss Amii Stewart, resplendent in a subtle number last worn by Maria Montez in Cobra Woman, to get us in the mood to party. So get your best kitten heels on, and let Amii Light (our) Fire(s)...

Thank Disco It's Friday!

It's like Thunder. Lightning...

Another week is drawing to a close, thank heavens.

Nights are almost at their longest, the dreaded Festering Season is in full swing (if I hear another piped crackly recording of Mariah Carey blasting down the aisles of another shop I swear I will kill someone), yet there's no excuse not to party - so dust off your impossibly-crafted hat-and-spangles outfit and boogie a la Amii Stewart!

Knock on Wood is possibly the best of the best disco songs of all time - Thank Disco It's Friday!

Enjoy!

Hatch and glitter

It's the weekend - and it's going to be a bloody cold one!

Never mind the weather, there are a couple of good reasons to be cheerful today.

We've got free tickets to a live recording of Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night - Tribute to the Soaps tonight (featuring none other than Tony Hatch, composer of the themes for Crossroads, Neighbours, Emmerdale and Sons and Daughters) to look forward to, and I have dug out some fantabulosa cheesy footage of none other than tinfoil queen Amii Stewart (dancing with giant Italians by the looks of it)...

Thank Disco It's Friday!

Jealousy, indeed...
