Avast behind!

Dear Mr Peenee - purveyor of filth by appointment to the Blogosphere - has reminded me once again that yesterday was "International Talk Like A Pirate Day", so once again I am late to the hornpipe... [Fnaar, fnaar!]

To make up for that egregious oversight - this!

You, too can talk like a pirate - with this handy phrasebook.

Arrr!

All is prepar'd; your gallant crew await you

We're off to the faboo Wilton's Music Hall this afternoon for a matinee showing of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance (another in a series of Sasha Regan's all-male productions - see here for The Mikado, and here for HMS Pinafore), as a treat for The Mother's 89th birthday!

I can't wait!!

Piracy or lunacy?

After all the excitement (and copious quantities of booze) of our "pirate-themed indoor picnic" yesterday - yes, our "gang" is that mad - at Our Sal's pub, we're having a quieter last-day-of-freedom to conclude two weeks away from the joys of work.

To continue the theme from yesterday, how about a few Gay Pirates to brighten our day?

Aaaar!

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Shiver me timbers! It's International "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!!!

Ahoy, landlubbers! Splice yer mainbraces, ye wretched scrofulous whoreson bilge-rats - and sing along!

Avast behind!

If you'd like to join in, here's a handy English-to-Pirate translator.

Music, music, music...

It's time for another pick of the newer music that I have stumbled across on my sojourn across the interwebs...

Opening this particular mish-mash, we bid a very welcome back to one of my fave bands of the early 80s, the quirky and superb Blancmange:

A little noisy stuff is in order next methinks, courtesy of Panic! At The Disco:

Here at Dolores Delargo Towers we have always had a thing about buccaneers. And now, thanks to the delightful Mike over at Pop Trash Addicts, we are alerted to an apparent "internet sensation" - Cosmo Jarvis and his Gay Pirates!

Next up the return of that faboo quirky cult dance act Hercules and Love affair with their latest mix...

And now, a pairing made in gay heaven! The magnificent Billie Ray Martin and that massive Italian superstar Hard Ton:

But to finish, I have to add a heap of campness that - to coin a phrase - is "gayer than Liberace and Elton John in a pink Mini"! For none other than the gorgeous Dana International has re-joined the Eurovision throng, singing Israel's official entry this year...

[Thanks, John-John]

We’re Pirates of the Sea

A little mischief engulfed me when I read this story. Apparently, pirates have seized a giant Saudi-owned oil tanker in the Indian Ocean off the Kenyan coast and are steering it towards Somalia. Although I am certain this is no laughing matter for the people on board, I couldn't resist...
