You don't believe me? Ask Helga...
Hyacinth "Delft Blue" in the gardens at Dolores Delargo Towers
Oh, yesterday was a beautiful day! So sunny and warm that if it wasn't for the fact that the only things in flower are the bulbs, one might have been forgiven for thinking it was May. Today, it's gloomy with the threat of rain. Welcome to Britain.
Hey ho - trust those delightful bods over at Soft Tempo Lounge to come up with the perfect solution. What better way to spend a Sunday than wallowing in the lives of impossibly glamorous people wearing beautifully tailored outfits, all of them acting mysteriously, in some glorious location?
Oh, Helga, indeed:

Oh, that's better.

Such impressive hyacinths! Mine have also just started to flower, although they appear to be a week or so behind yours - probably because of the cold North Wind off the sea.
ReplyDeleteOurs were formerly "prepared" bulbs we grew in the house, then planted out when they got "leggy" - admittedly close to a fence, so probably a bit sheltered - but we've not really cosseted them. They smell gorgeous, too. Jx
DeleteNo one here is wearing anything tailored.
ReplyDeleteRather, we're still all wearing puffy, eiderdown-filled jackets.
It's nice to see it's spring somewhere.
I must admit, a British spring is probably the most beautiful anywhere in the world. Apparently it's to do with the plants that started colonising the land after the Ice Age that were isolated when the North Sea flooded and we became an island, and never thrived as well over in Europe. In the Americas, there was no sea barrier so plants spread willy-nilly. Jx
Deleteit's snowing right now, something that hasn't happened in ages. we're promised a few inches, much better that the 12-18" new england faces. of course, if donald has anything to do with it, spring will never come....unless it has his name attached to it.
ReplyDelete"Make Weather Great Again"? Jx
