So I told a friendly star

It's another Doris Day! The divine Doris is celebrating her 91st birthday, and I think we may need to help her blow out all those candles.

As is my wont at the end of every week - but especially with "our boys" Baby Steve and Houseboy Alex staying a few nights this Easter weekend - we have much partying to plan, and it's time to start bopping!

So, taking our usual "Disco" theme to its extreme, here - with a cover of one of Miss Day's greatest numbers Secret Love - is the effervescent Liquid Gold...

And just in case anyone needs reminding of the full glory that was Miss Ellie Hope and her boys, here they are again with their less successful follow up single to their chart-storming Dance Yourself Dizzy - Don't Panic.

Thank Disco It's Friday!

Happy birthday Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff (born 3rd April 1924)

  1. 91?

So her quote, "The really frightening thing about middle age is the knowledge that you'll grow out of it." has come true!

  2. Every single time I run across one of these giant frizzy perms from back in the day it surprises me. I think it's some kind of memory blind spot.
