But is it art?



One of the most famous images from Brighton (after the Pavilion and the Pier), graffiti superstar Banksy's tribute to Britain's gayest city, "Kissing Coppers" has been hacked out of its home on the wall of a grotty music pub and sold in America for $575,000 (£345,000)!

I'm not sure why the anonymous buyer didn't just get one of the myriad reproductions - on mugs, posters, t-shirts, placemats, mouse mats, keyrings or tote bags. There are even "kissing coppers" wall clocks...
