Vive la différence



Hoorah!
France has become the 14th country to approve a law allowing gay marriage.

The bill, which also legalises adoption by same-sex couples, was passed by 321 votes to 225 in the French parliament.

The decision follows a divisive public debate with some of the biggest protests seen in France in recent years.

  1. And here I was, thinking that France was one of the more "liberal" countries. All the commotion and the endless protests seem to indicate otherwise. But fantastic news nonetheless!

    It's been years since these laws were passed over here - can't believe there are only 14 countries so far that have allowed gay marriage!

    1. France? Liberal? No way. Paris, yes. France, non...

      Anyhow, the bill is through, despite what the Church-driven homophobes say or do. As for the number of countries that have legalised gay marriage, that is such a small number because of the "M" word - many others have "civil partnerships" as an alternative. Jx
