"Everybody Out!"
By way of a tribute to the fabulous Miriam Karlin, lovely lady lesbian and star of numerous stage and screen productions since the 1950s (notably the long-running TV comedy The Rag Trade), who died yesterday, here's a classic clip from her most famous role:
Unfortunately the clip doesn't feature her shop-steward's catchphrase "Everybody out!", but fab anyway...

it must have run for quite a while cos I remember Everybody Out!

ReplyDeleteNone of us is old enough to remember the original with Sheila Hancock and Reg Varney in it, I believe... It was revived by ITV in the late 70s, with Anna Karen, Peter Jones and Gillian Taylforth(!). Jx
