Gay Xmas!
It's here...
Happy Gay Xmas, everyone! We're off to London Gay Pride, resplendent in shocking pink, one and all, and look forward to a sparkling parade through the heart of the West End - in the company of...ummmm...one or two others.
As is traditional, here's our usual send-off anthem, here sung (unconventionally) by a man - take it away, Mr Josh Young, and let's Bring On The Men!
[Apparently Broadway Backwards is an annual (charity) celebration where gays and lesbians see their stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, sung by their favourite Broadway performers. Sounds fun to me!]

Actually it's a fundraising event put on by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in conjunction with The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (say that five times fast) in which songs traditionally sung by men are sung by women and vice versa, oftentimes with a gay/lesbian spin (obviously)
ReplyDeleteAnd DVDs of the events are sold to benefit BC/EFA at http://www.reeltimevideoproduction.com/bcefadvd.html (yeah bit of shamelessness...as I'm madly editing this year's Broadway Bares :).
Happens every March-ish and is a wonderful event.
It sounds utterly wonderful - and if I were in New York, I would love to go along! We have "West End Bares", but so equivalent of the "Backwards" gala. Jx
DeleteIt is (and last year had Tony Sheldon of Priscilla fame as one of the 'leads')
