Won't let you go

It has ostensibly been a short week thanks to the Bank Holiday, but today has felt like a long time coming...

Birthday celebrants today include Teddy Johnson, Mrs Knowles-Carter (Beyoncé), DJ Mark Ronson, Anton Bruckner, Mary Renault (author of The Charioteer) and our Patron Saint of Bugle Beads Miss Mitzi Gaynor.

However, it is tomorrow's birthday boy the fantabulosa Freddie Mercury to whom we turn to get the party started this weekend - with one of his fabled solo ventures into the music of the discotheque [and with snippets of Metropolis for the celebration of which this song was written by Mr Moroder] - take it away, Freddie!

It's just a living pastime, ruining your heartline
Stays for a lifetime, won't let you go
Coz love (love) love (love) love won't leave you alone

Apparently.

Have a great weekend, peeps - Thank Disco It's Friday!

Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara, 5th September 1946 – 24th November 1991)
