My heart is my alibi

As we hurtle towards a long Bank Holiday weekend (and breathe a sigh of relief that this bloody week is over at last), let us raise a toast to Our Princess Kylie, whose birthday it is tomorrow!

We will inevitably let the lady herself get the party started in the most pertinent manner, with this guaranteed-to-get-you-moving classic - and Thank Disco It's Friday!

Have a great weekend! We are off to visit the Boys in Braintree Manor in Essex, so posts may be somewhat intermittent until our return on Tuesday...

  3. I was at university in Wales during 1990-91, when this song came out, so it's always been my favorite Kylie song--or at least it was until "Can't Get You Out of My Head" came along. One of my best friends from my dorm there was from Braintree in Essex, so maybe it's this odd combination of very loose coincidences that prompted me to finally make a comment!

It's Memorial Day here in the US and thus a holiday too, though all in all, I'd much rather be in Braintree instead (especially given the current 31°C temps here in northern California). Hope y'all are having the great bank holiday weekend you deserve!

    1. Welcome to Dolores Delargo Towers, lilianavonk! It has been a faboo weekend - although I'm not certain you would particularly appreciate the typical Essex Bank Holiday weather we've been having (in other words, cold winds, thick cloud and a general feeling of dampness)... Jx

  4. Cold winds, thick clouds and general dampness are all part of my favorite kind of weather! The best atmospheric conditions that I've ever lived in were in Swansea and on the north coast of California, in Humboldt County--cool, coastal climates are my preferred environment, and I don't do at all well in heat (or as I think of summer, being tormented by the ghastly emanations of the DayStar).

Thank you for your kind welcome to this longtime lurker/admirer, first-time commenter. BTW, I adore your list of patron saints, as many of them occupy that same position in my personal pantheon as well!

    1. The weather's been extremely "Welsh" over the last couple of days (torrential downpours) so you perhaps would identify with it... Jx
