Is it worth it, to look good in your coffin?
"I'm too old for surgery. Is it worth it, to look good in your coffin?"
"As long as I am capable of working, and can learn lines and move around, I will carry on. I’d be utterly bored if I stopped."
One of Britain's most beloved character actresses, June Brown - best known as "Dot Cotton" in Eastenders - celebrates her 90th birthday today.
And she's not afraid of getting nude...
Many happy returns, June Muriel Brown, MBE (born 16th February 1927)
June Brown at 90 - a Walford Legend is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

My I haven't seen her in years! And I do believe that is the first time I have seen her young.
ReplyDeleteShe was a "bit of a girl" in her younger days, too. Jx

ReplyDelete"Oooh, I saaay!" Jx
DeleteA marvelous character actress of a kind almost unknown in these low days. I first became aware of her many (many, many) years ago when she played the harridan mother in The Duchess of Duke Street, a brilliant series in which she shone.
ReplyDeleteHeavens - The Duchess of Duke Street! I loved that series. Terrifyingly, its over FORTY YEARS ago since we were glued to the screens to watch it... Jx
DeleteShe's actually younger here in the US. Why? Because Eastenders is broadcast in this neck of the woods and the episodes are from 2006! So we have a long time before we ever catch up. Cheers to June!
ReplyDeleteWith all that time-travel, she ought to be the next Dr Who... Jx
DeleteI didn't realize she was such a looker, back in the day.
ReplyDeleteMore than a little Claire Bloom about her, methinks... Jx
