Oh congratulations, although like tomass says, and as a gardener myself, it seems like it would be hard too say goodbye to your garden, even if you do get to escape the demon spawn.
Well, despite it looking a little on the bijou side, those hedged gardens look like they might just about contain all your fuschias. Just. This will certainly keep you busy - when do you hope to be in by?
I plan to get us in to the new place the week after our annual pilgrimage to Spain in February. It'll take a bit of a slog, but nothing more than we can handle :-)Jx
Thanks, sweetie. The biggest chore is the packing (and scrubbing this place down) - but we've done it all before, and we'll do it all again with aplomb. Then sit in our new parterre "And sniff one up the perfume sweet, of every roses buttoning there." Which is unforgivably bad grammar, even for a poet. Jx
Well, it's a bit understated don't you think dear?

We looked for something grander, but had to settle for this modest pile... Jx
DeleteSeems happy news, Jon, but what of your extensive gardens and incredible fuchsia collection?
ReplyDeleteThey shall be re-created, parterres, fountains and all :-)

You're going to need more houseboys.
ReplyDeleteThe recruitment drive starts here. Jx

ReplyDeleteWe shall be digging it all up, dear, and taking what we can with us! I'm not "gifting" the landlady/future tenants with all that... Jx

DeleteLosing the garden is a bitter pill but I am very pleased indeed
ReplyDeleteThe new place has the potential for us to recreate what we have now. We'll do it, beautifully, of that I have no doubt! Jx
Delete"And sit him in the gay parterre..."
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
