Congratulations (long overdue) to the "world's largest democracy" India - the latest country to ditch centuries of bigotry and legalise homosexuality!
From the BBC:
Chief justice Dipak Misra said: "Criminalising carnal intercourse is irrational, arbitrary and manifestly unconstitutional."Let the celebrations begin!
Another judge, Indu Malhotra, said she believed "history owes an apology" to LGBT people for ostracising them.
Oh... it seems they already have:
[*Bahut-bahut badhai! (बहुत-बहुत बधाई!) = Many many congratulations! in Hindi]
If this is the hen party, imagine the reception!
ReplyDeleteThey'd need a (much) bigger room! Like this, perhaps. Jx
DeleteWhat great news! Those His-n-His wedding outfits are gorgeous - almost makes me want to get married!
ReplyDeleteAs for the golden girl from Gumnaam, I expect she must have needed more than a couple of aspirin and a sit down after that "little" number.
There are no "little" numbers in Bollywood! And yes - the Indian wedding outfits are luxurious; we often coveted those we saw in the windows of shops in Southall when we lived in West London... Jx
