Cavorting? In this weather?

Having had a very disturbed sleep - the vile granddad next door started shouting in Bulgarian into his phone at around 6am, and did not stop to take breath for the next five hours - when I'd finally had enough and eventually surfaced, I found it was pissing down again (and had been for hours), making even going outside for a fag a complete bind. Suffice to say, it didn't put me in the best of moods...

Never mind, eh, let's have another wallow in the glamorous lives of beautiful people cavorting in exotic, sunnier climes, shall we - courtesy of the ever-faboo Soft Tempo Lounge:

Ah, that's better.

  1. I've just been out to take Bitey for his final walk of the day, and it's surprisingly mild. The breeze could even be classed as balmy! Everything is sodden though, and the ground squelches underfoot, so I couldn't for a moment pretend I was living a glamorous life somewhere exotic. Bah!

    1. It's mild, indeed - and the rain's stopped here - but the wind's swooped a load of pots off their shelves, so I don't envy anyone walking a dog this evening! I'd certainly be wary of walking under any creaky old trees... Jx

  2. Oh, that rainy window GIF says it all. So sorry.

    1. "It's the most depressing time of the year" - to misquote Andy Williams. Jx

  3. I used to want a smoking shed in the garden for days like today - with a sofa, and maybe somewhere I could make tea.
I don’t think the weather clears up properly until Wednesday. Grrr.

    1. A smoking shed! What a faboo idea.

A colleague in work has an outdoor gazebo/shed equipped with a bar with optics (her husband's a rep for a booze company) - and ashtrays, I have no doubt - with the original aim of keeping the "party" away from the beady eyes of her kids... No idea whether that aim succeeded. Probably not.

  4. Oh gross - a Vile Bulgarian Granddad who shouts into the phone at all hours! I feel your pain, my dear. Might I suggest a return volley of Cannibal Corpse, Obituary and Napalm Death? (bass cranked of course) Or perhaps a side of House By The Cemetary's (their spelling, not mine) 'The Mortuary Hauntings'?

    1. Oh, I could do far worse than that, dear. I think Birgit Nilsson at full pelt in Richard Strauss's Elektra would be enough to scare the shit out of even the roughest fucking Bulgarian gypsy! If only we were sure that our own upstairs neighbours (who we wouldn't want to upset in that way) were away, I would have the speakers up against that wall, cranked up, ready for 4am Monday morning... 5. Things are pretty bad when you can't even go out for a smoke. It rained all day at my house, too. I have a gray cloud over my head everywhere I go.

    Love,

    1. It was a grim morning indeed - that, and the ever-declining light, doesn't exactly lend itself to "good cheer". Jx
