Hoorah! The weekend's almost upon us - and, for a change a) we have no events, exhibitions, parties or anything planned; and b) the forecast is for more sunshine!
I think a little celebration is in order - and since it happened to have been the (gulp) 80th birthday yesterday of the sole surviving Pointer Sister, Ruth Pointer, let's give the girls the spotlight to shimmy in, and...

ReplyDeleteI loved the Pointer Sisters when I was a kid! I think mom had the cassette tape because we listened to them a lot. "I'm so Excited" seemed to play everywhere we went as well as Olivia Newton John's, Physical"!
If the sun shines as forecast, we're definitely going to be in the garden, pottering!
DeleteThe Pointer Sisters were indeed airwave-friendly favourites in the 1980s, and even today, if one listens to retro radio channels/shows...
I love the Pointer Sisters. My first apartment in Brooklyn always had me singing the sing, “I Got Steam Heat.”
ReplyDeleteI love 'em, too - but I had to look up the "Steam Heat" song. That was a hit in 1974 in the USA, and the girls never had a major hit here until 1981, so it's no surprise I didn't get the reference... Jx
