It's the weekend at last! Unfortunately, our hope to bask in the glorious summery weather that was gripping the country till yesterday has been rudely interrupted by a wet cold front from France...
Zut alors!
Fingers crossed it peters out before tomorrow's Proms in the Park celebrations. We will, after all, be spending seven hours in Hyde Park, and the last thing we want is rain. It might - just might - take the edge off a festival with such a varied line-up as tenor Joseph Calleja, the (rumoured to appear) boy-band Blue, violinist Nigel Kennedy, Dame Edna Everage and... Bryan Ferry! [Whatever the weather, somehow I think we'll enjoy it. We've packed cagoules among the Union Jacks.]
Back to the job in hand - to get ourselves into the party mood, what better than a bit of mid-70s discospectacular extravagance, courtesy of the wondrous Earth, Wind and Fire, and their typically subtle and understated video for Let's Groove?
