Way back in 2015, I said:
...I'm in just the right mood for some tight-trousered, felt-hatted, open-shirt, Stud-soundtrack-worthy funk courtesy of the Real Thing...
...featuring Legs & Co AND Hot Gossip dancer Floid Pearce!
And guess what, dear reader?
I still am!
Thank Disco It's Friday!
Have a great weekend, folks - fingers crossed this hot'n'sunny weather lasts...
Well you don't get mush more Disco than that !
ReplyDeleteDisco is Sunshine music and the weather is spot on; hot'n'sunny !
Trouble with the sunshine-and-Disco combination is the sweat patches on the Lycra. Jx
DeleteIs that a Joan and Jackie Collins reference? I think I watched it when it came out on VHS back in the haties. Imagine my disappointment. Well, disco never disappoints. I want the Ritchie Family to live next door. And Boney M. to live across the street. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThe Stud was not a good film - but it re-launched Dame Joan's career playing vampy bitch characters, and that caught the attention of Dynasty producers the Shapiros... The rest is history, as they say.
DeleteBoney M across the street? You'd soon get sick of Rivers of Babylon blasting out, day and night! Jx
The seventies was always sunny - that's what nostalgia does to my memory - it blocks out the UK holidays spent trapped in the car because of the rain!

Selective memory is sometimes a good thing. Every year in the 70s should have been like 1976! They weren't, obviously. I remember the very following year, 1977 - all the hoo-ha about the Jubilee, and the street party and carnival and all that - it was cold and grey all summer... Jx
