Yes! The weekend's almost here - so it's time to let our hair down...
With the sad news that DJ Eamon Downes has departed, much too soon, for the Great Rave Tent in the Sky - what better way to wave goodbye to another tedious week than with this, his most famous hit? An irresistible choon from the "Decade of Dance"...
Thank Disco Old-Skool It's Friday!
Ravin'! We're ravin'!
[We go to Wetherspoons, have a few drinks and a burger and go home, more like.]
Have a great weekend, peeps!
Happy almost weekend. The music is a bit too much for my energy levels this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe're all getting a bit too old for a rave at breakfast-time 😎 Jx
DeleteIm not sure if I recall this old school dance ditty. There were oh so many blacken nights out....but so glad it's the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe Harrisburg clan is gathering for yet another and the last of Pride events...the Harrisburg Pride. Parade festival and then the pubs.
Homegrown British rave tracks like this rarely crossed the pond. Some acts with good promoters, like The Shamen, managed to get success Stateside. In general, however, the likes of The Prodigy and 808 State and their compatriots were largely confined to sweaty illegal gatherings in tents and warehouses off the M6.
DeleteHappy Pride! Jx
Dear, the Shamen!!!!! Now you're talking my LSI.... Love, Sex, Intelligence.
Delete"Comin' thru in the things you do to me". Indeed. Jx
Deletesweaty illegal gatherings sound like fun
ReplyDeleteI imagine dancing, drugs and acid house music were not the only things going on at such raves... Jx
DeleteSad news indeed
ReplyDeleteHis music was fab then and is fab now and more importantly still played now for a new generation of dance music fans.
One would sincerely hope so! But then again, it doesn't have a guest rapper in the middle of it, ruining the mood, which seems to be the law for most dance music (at least in the charts) these days. Jx
