This is a mindfuck. Because of the way the dates fall this year, I'm getting that "Monday Morning Horror" experience - on a Friday!
Yes, being back to work for one day, then into another weekend is simply weird...
We need something to lighten our spirits - and I have found the perfect one. Blurring the boundaries somewhat between "Tacky Music Monday" and my usual "Thank Disco It's Friday" slot, I'm not sure which I love the most - the "Disco Granny chic" of Miss Celi Bee, or her fabulous pirouetting safety gays!

The weekend is almost here. You’re nearly through your week at work. Oh, that video. I saw the two dancers and immediately thought that’s exactly how I was built in the ’70s... and I couldn’t stand it. Now they look pretty good to me. Do it to me, Superman.

When I saw that also, I said fuck it..... I told my boss to put in another vacay day, since I can only roll over so much time, or fear losing some. And screw that...I am not losing my paid vacation time. After five days Monday will suck a huge one.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to lose any paid leave for this day either, but unfortunately all our "privilege days" (i.e. the ones added onto our leave entitlement but set by management) are for the bit in-between Xmas and NYE, not afterwards. Jx

DeleteWelcome to my world - I squeeze my full time hours into 4 days and have Thursdays off. However, I always work from home on Fridays and finish at 4. By 4:01 I have a G&T in hand ready for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a couple of Safety Gays at my beck and call though, mores the pity. Nor those slovenly strumpets lolling about on the stairs - they're a trip hazard!

ReplyDeleteI also don't understand why the YouTube video says 'Disco Caribbean Queen' but she is singing about Superman. Perhaps it refers to the safety Gays who might well be Caribbean Queens.
I was confused by that - I wondered whether it was the name of the TV show, or maybe this was filmed on a cruise ship with that name. I'm rather more inclined to agree with you, though, those two "Caribbean queens" were the true stars of the show! Jx
