Bring us back together

Among a raft of fellow celebrants today, including Beatles impresario Sir George Martin (whose centenary it is), Mel Gibson (70), J.R.R. Tolkien, John Paul Jones, Victoria Principal, Anna May Wong, John Thaw, Ray Milland, Michael Schumacher, Sergio Leone, Victor Borge, ZaSu Pitts, Stephen Stills and Florence Pugh, it's Thomas Bangalter's birthday...

Who? I hear you ask.

He's probably most famous as one of "the men beneath the helmets", one half of the groundbreaking electro duo Daft Punk, but he was also responsible for this classic:

  1. I love Duft Punk... but was not familiar with Stardust....and adored John Thaw.

    1. Stardust was/were very much a "one-hit-wonder" project - but this was one of the biggest-selling singles in the UK in '98, after being promoted by the legendary Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong. Jx

    2. Pete Tong! My lands...last time I heard and saw him spin was back in the mid 90's at the Palladium in NYC. He had us queens bumpin' and jumpin'

    3. He's still going strong on BBC Radio 1 and at festivals, and has ventured into new territory with his orchestrated concert versions of Ibiza club classics - read more here - which are simply faboo! Jx
