I wake the possessed

Paraskevidekatriaphobia - such a lovely word.

Yes, at the end of this rather dismal (weather-wise) extra week off after our Spain trip, it also happens to be Friday the Thirteenth, the bad luck day [if you believe in all that sort of stuff]!

I don't. I believe in being invisible - like our old faves Gravitonas!

Cause I look to the east
And I look to the west
And I bless my lucky star
Bless my lucky star
I'm invisible, visible
Un-visible, oh oh

So I bow to the priest
And I wake the possessed
And I bless my lucky star
Bless my lucky star
I'm invisible, visible
Un-visible, oh oh

Thank Disco(?) It's Friday - and have a great weekend, peeps!

  1. I want to be un-visible and I want those shoes. Great song. Great video. Andreas Öhrn sure is cute. Tuesday the 13th is the bad luck day here (double unlucky... Tuesday and 13). I believe any day can be unlucky if you give it a chance.

    1. I wish you good luck for Tuesday...

Andreas Öhrn is indeed a cutie. I cannot understand why Gravitonas hasn't had more success outside Sweden and Eastern Europe! Jx

PS he's talented as well as cute - a co-producer of a few entries in the Eurovision Song Contest over the years.

    2. PPS I cannot imagine trying to get down the stairs to the Tube in those shoes...

  2. I'm just about to get into bed after a whole day of not knowing what date it is! I can't believe I managed to get through work without realising. Thank you, Jon!

P.S. Love "Lucky Star"! And the accompanying "We Are The People" by Empire of the Sun.

    1. You were - ahem - lucky not to have noticed. I bet you walked under at least one ladder, plonked your shoes up on the table, and spilled the salt without throwing some over your left eye as well. 🤣

I guessed you would, however, remember that "mass debate" about soundalike songs from six years ago! Jx

    2. In years to come when my brain turns to mush (well, turns mushier), I suspect that the Gravitonas / Empire of the Sun mass debate will be one of the very few things that I remember and witter on about, confusing anyone who's silly enogh to engage me in conversation!

    3. I am a bit like that - I can walk into the kitchen and have absolutely no idea what I went there for, and yet I can recite, word-for-word, most of Victoria Wood's sketches, or remember who knocked Wet Wet Wet’s "Love Is All Around" off the top of the charts in 1994 (it was Whigfield "Saturday Night", if you're curious)! Jx

  3. I too am now most of the day through and had no idea what day it was until coming here to your post! I suppose in some ways I can be oddly superstitious, but Friday the 13th has always tended to be a good day for me.

    Have a good weekend!

    1. They were far more paranoid about "witches" in the USA than we were in the UK, I assume. Jx
