Keep on keepin' on

Nearly there... Another tedious week is behind us (and this was a short one because of the Bank Holiday Monday, but doesn't feel like it).

Without further ado, let's get ourselves into the party mood for the weekend with birthday boy Merald Woodlow "Bubba" Knight Jr. and his chums, a-twirling and a-gyrating in support of his baby sister Gladys - and Thank Disco It's Friday!

All my life, all I ever wanted was to be a Pip.

Have a great weekend, folks!

FOOTNOTE:

There is a major issue today - to add to all its other woes - with the ability to post comments on Blogger blogs. No-one can get any further than the "Publishing.." message! I have seen forums where this has been discussed, and it appears to be worldwide.

The bloody Google gnomes need to pull ther fingers out and fix it quickly!

But they won't, of course...

  2. I adore Gladys Knight and the Pips. Even my father liked them, although he always called them Gladys Pip and the Knights. Oh, to be as cool as the Pips (and Gladys) or as talented.

    1. If only. They were the best of 'em - and Gladys was still in fine vocal form when we saw her at the last Proms in the Park (it's no longer running, more's the pity) back in 2018 - even at 74 years of age, she was the most powerful singer on stage that night! Jx

  3. I recently watched a YouTube video of Glady Knight performing on stage, it was heartbreaking to watch, she looked confused and couldn't remember the words to her song and was comforted by one of her backing singers. Very concerning. Her son said it's elder abuse from her much much younger husband.

    1. Poor old thing. There are, however, two sides to every story, and Gladys herself has stood up and refuted the son's claims. I read that she has now announced her retirement from performing, which is probably for the best. Jx
