Paris as you never saw it before

The lovely Barbara McNair, actress, singer, proud wiglet-wearer and star of her own 1969 television variety series (making her one of the first black women to do so) would have celebrated her 80th birthday today.

I have lauded the lady's talents via that miracle medium of good taste, Scopitone, before. Never a lady to let cheap production values and gaudy colour schemes get in the way of a song, here she is in another slice of fabulosity - over-dressed, over-emoting in the company of typically inappropriate backing dancers. We love it!
