A cardboard box

Huzzah! The weekend is in sight, and for that I will be extremely grateful! It's horribly grey and grizzly out there, with torrential rain forecast and more to come, but who cares? We won't be in work, and that's the main thing...

Following the sad news that the very handsome Richard Darbyshire, former lead singer of Living in a Box, died earlier this week (aged just 65!), there is only one song that I could possibly play to get the party started - one of the catchiest songs of the era.

Thank Disco The Eighties it's Friday!

Have a fab weekend, dear reader!

  1. Another song I probably heard while driving (school dropoffs) my kids around back in the day, so I'm glad to hear it again without kids background noise. Two things: great obituary for Richard, and second, what a handsome guy he was, sweetpea! xoxo

  2. Ah, I listened to this the other day while driving to work (from some Ministry of Sound 80s compilation or something). I've never seen the video before though - or any of their others - and, yes, he was VERY handsome!

    1. If that compilation also contained the likes of Wibby Whitney, Five Star, Terence Trent D'Arby, Mel & Kim and Curiosity Killed The Cat, it was probably "The Hits Album" #6... Jx

    2. I think the gif is Michael Damien and Eileen Davidson from an American soap The Young and the Restless.

  4. When I saw the title of this post my brain immediately responded with, "I am a Cat." Because everyone who has lived with cats, knows they love boxes. We have the same shitty weather here. There are still too many leaves about causing a lot of urban flooding. My field is actually a wet meadow. It eats a UPS or FedEx truck annually. They have no since when they think they can turn around in it instead of backing down the neighbor's driveway.

    1. Cats look nice, but all I think about is ways to stop them shitting in my garden. I am not a "cat person".

Your mud puts even Ms Scarlet's in the shade by the sounds of it! Jx
