Historical Auntie
Alexandra Palace
Happy 75th birthday to BBC television!
To celebrate, Auntie Beeb is holding an open weekend at its original pre-war home Alexandra Palace, and of course its website (and BBC4) is turned over to retrospective articles, including a photo gallery, a tour of the original studio and a potted history of television broadcasting.
I would rather make this an excuse to wallow in nostalgia of my own, with just a few of the BBC TV programmes of my youth. How many do you remember, dear reader?
