...well, maybe...
We do indeed have snowdrops, "Tete-a-Tete" daffodils, cyclamen and these gorgeous Iris reticulata ("Blue Note" and "J.S. Dit") in flower...
...but the arse-end of the dramatic "Storm Eunice (Burns?)" means that the last day of my holiday [sniff! sniff!] is blustery, wet and downright miserable.
So, just like a typical British Springtime, then...
Lovely flowers! We've had summer, then winter, then summer, then winter followed by a couple of days of spring, all in a matter of months, and now we're looking at winter this coming week! Of course, nothing like y'all are experiencing across the pond, but it's atypical Southern California weather! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe UK's being battered by storms at the moment, but at least it keeps the frost away :-)

Eunice....Grrrrr....
ReplyDeleteSx
She's still gusting away even today, the bitch! Jx
DeleteMeanwhile...in this former Outpost of Empire, our wet season seems seems to arrived. It's been wonderful for parched bush and inland areas, topping-up/overflowing streams, rivers and billabongs.A bit late, but welcome.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful iris! (I have some yellow dietes; pity we can't swap)
Nobody needs a parched bush.
DeleteI had to look up Dietes - they are lovely! Not hardy here, however, so we'd need to overwinter them like begonias and dahlias, I'd assume (although the RHS says they are "difficult to establish" so knowing our luck they'd never flower)...
