Arqid fi salam

Another day, another obscure foreign entertainer [cf. Georgie Dann; also Elza Soares and Lata Mangeshkar (both of whom died in January)], Lebanese superstar Sammy Clark has departed for the "Exotica Lounge" in Fabulon...

I first stumbled across the remarkable Mr Clark (born born Sami Hobeika) just in time for a Tacky Music Monday way back in 2010 - and he is most definitely worth revisiting (even if it is just a "Hump Day")...

    1. I'd love to know what else is on the list.

  2. Some of the leotard dancers in the top video might have been recruited merely for owning a leotard and tights, and not for their sense of rhythm! The Steve Wright lookalike seemed impressed though.

    1. They had to make their own entertainment in the Lebanon in those days. None of your fancy Donna Karen/Jane Fonda/Olivia Newton-John outfits and Flick Colby choreography for them... Oh, no! Jx

PS I think everyone in the Middle East ends up looking like Steve Wright. Unfortunately.

    2. I saw that somewhere, too. I keep looking over my shoulder. No, not Jessie Mathews!
