Joho, Joho. Apparently.
It might have been a short week, but it was a particularly annoying one, and I am rather glad it's coming to its conclusion. The skanky weather hasn't exactly helped - but at least we did take delivery of a new (and rather imposing) new garden bench, which we (eventually) managed to put together yesterday and is now proudly dominating the garden, shrugging off the rain. [I'll post pictures in due course, if ever the weather eases up...]
Never mind the storms, we have end-of-week parties to plan [virtual ones, of course - we're not even going to contemplate venturing to any pub or similar, despite the much-vaunted "lockdown easing" that is supposed to happen this weekend; although I may try and get my hair cut if the queue isn't around the block]!
I think I might just sling on an old gold lamé jumpsuit, grab a curtain tie-back off the bay windows of the local Turkish restaurant for a headband, and boogie on down with Mr Richie Weeks and his hyperactive chums...
...and Thank Disco It's Friday!
Have a good weekend, peeps!

I always hear on the news how you guys are the hot spot for the other side of the pond. Seems we both have idiots running things.
ReplyDeleteIf your day at the salon doesn't transpire let me know... I'll send wigs!
There are far worse out there than our benighted leader... Yes, the UK has "been through the mill" with this lockdown business (not that you'd know it on occasions, with the "I'm alright, Jack" mentality of some people who obviously don't think a virus applies to them, and basically do what the fuck they like). I shudder to think how dreadful the first night of pub opening is likely to be, and shall be avoiding it like the proverbial plague (a most appropriate term in the circumstances).
DeleteI have no idea whether I'll get anywhere near my usual barbers, but I live in hope...
Now, GET DANCIN'!
Jx
Would love to see your new garden bench at home. Oh, these old videos. I can't believe we ever thought they looked cool. Hope the bench and weekend rock your world.
ReplyDeleteMitchell.... you need to visit Madam Arcadi's blog...where it features the spectacular splendor of the gardens. Look over in the blog roll >>>>>>>>>>
DeleteYou won't be disappointed
The bench is fab - a good solid bit of furniture, for a change. As I say, I'll take some pics once the weather's decent enough to get some.
DeleteAs for Mr Weeks, heaven only knows what that outfit was all about, but I imagine back in 1981 he though he was the bee's knees - much like these chaps... Jx
Bless you, Maddie! Jx
DeleteThat gold lamé and the besequinned fishnet bodysuits have certainly brightened up my evening after a Fraught Friday "at" work - thank you.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Jon!
I just hope you can still fit into yours - my sequins are starting to chafe :-)

I got a haircut on tuesday for the first time since february.
ReplyDeleteappointments required, wait in car til called in. masks, hand sanitizer, paper cape whilst being cut. disinfectant used on chair/tools afterwards. I was the only person in the shop other than the stylist. seniors only between 10a-12n on tuesdays.
I might be knocking-on a bit, but I'm not quite ready for "Pensioner Tuesdays" yet! I keep my fingers crossed I can get anywhere near our barbers this weekend, but given the fact that just about everyone else in the area will also see the opportunity now lockdown is easing, I am not holding out much hope. Jx
DeleteI decided earlier that I would just ignore easing up of anything and stick with avoiding people (which I'm really good at anyway) and wearing my mask if I have to go out. Turns out living the life of shut-in was good practice.
ReplyDeleteYour chosen career path was "hermit", obviously. Jx
DeleteFabulous Disco Balls !
ReplyDeleteI'm polishing them as we speak. Jx
DeleteDid you get to the barbers? I was tempted by the salon, but I'm kind of liking my new look!
ReplyDeleteAs for the chaffing sequins - I switched out digestives for rice cakes[I know, not quite the same] and I'm back to my usual weight.

I decided not to venture out to queue at the barbers yesterday, given the fact it was the "first day out on parole" for so many people. I half planned to set my alarm for this morning instead, but ended up listening to Ana Matronic's Dance Devotion on Radio 2 till 2am, so that plan went out of the window, too.
DeleteRice cakes are EVIL. I'd rather be fat. Jx
