I CAN stand it today, actually...

Clogs!!

...because at 4pm today, I will officially be on holiday - and won't be returning to the benighted office until September. Yay!

A bit late this year for our annual pilgrimage to our beloved Amsterdam (my birthday having passed last weekend, when we are usually there) - but there's a very good reason.

We fly out next Wednesday, for several event-filled days of fun and merriment as the 'Dam celebrates its 750th birthday - with the Grachtenfestival, the Tall Ships, a viewing platform on the roof of the Nieuwe Kerk, food festivals and much more besides!

To kick off the party mood, how about one of the cheesiest of cheesy Dutch Eurodance acts? As Mr DeVice commented last time I posted this, "Where on earth was that video shot - outside Fawlty Towers??"

Thank Disco Eurodance It's Friday!

Have a great weeekend, folks!

  1. I'm on my lunch break as I read this, and I'm right there with you. I have 3 hours to go and I won't be returning until sometime in September. Three more days to count down then I leave!!! Good riddance rat race.

  2. That’s hilarious. It DOES look like Fawlty Towers. Apparently she can’t stand it no more no no more. Neither can I. You are so cultured! The Grachtenfestival!

    1. Oh, we are, dear - culture with a capital "K"! Our hotel where we always stay is right in the heart of the old town, in the "Red Light District", and as we wander the grachten from there, we fully expect to catch loads of different pop-up stages with different types of music everywhere! Can't wait... Jx

PS The Dutch Fawlty Towers! - who knew?

    1. Of all those bars, we only regularly frequent Spijker and the Queen’s Head. Regardless, this trip is certainly going to see Mokum at its busiest, I reckon! Jx

    1. Remarkably, the group is still together, still performing. Who is their audience, I wonder? Jx
