Um samba como esse tão lega

Wakey, wakey! It's Monday again...

After a weekend that saw Madam A and I in Cadogan Hall for a performance of Fauré's Requiem, followed by a day of basically monging-around - because the fine weather on Saturday turned to utterly dismal rain yesterday - it's all over again, and off we go to the hurly-burly of another working week...

Sigh.

Thank heavens, on this Tacky Music Monday, for our long-time house faves here at Dolores Delargo Towers, the Kessler Twins!! [...and their safety gays, of course...]

Have a good week, dear reader.

  1. Oh, those bitches. I remember them appearing a while ago (probably here) and one commenter describing them as having rehearsed "almost enough." It's interesting to see where Abba got their one-profile-one-head-on pose.

    1. This was a particularly clunky routine, I must admit - good observation about the "sideways heads" pose... Jx

  2. The Kessler Twins had a surprisingly good sound (especially on Mas Que Nada), but oh those costumes and that choreography. I wonder what future generations will be saying about our current trend of crotch-grabbing choreography.

  3. Fuck Monday.

The only thing waking me up today will be two Brazilians in the shower with me.

I had a "Blackpool breakfast" - coffee and cigarettes... Jx

  4. I'm familiar with that song! I never knew who it was by though. It makes me think of the Austin Powers movies which we enjoy. Have a good week, Jon!

    1. It's a classic Sergio Mendes number - see here for the original, and I love it!

The one that's indelibly associated with Austin Powers is Quincy Jones' Soul Bossa Nova - here. Yeah, Baby, Yeah! Jx

  5. Les charmantes sœurs Kessler sont de renommé internationale mais pas tellement dans leur pays d'origine, les États-Unis.
C'est amusant à quel point les danseurs sont gays.

    1. Yet they had a "resident" slot on the Ed Sullivan Show, from whence this clip came... Jx
