Tell me I'm the only one
Miss Taylor Dayne (nee Leslie Wunderman) - the fiercest diva to tread the Hi-NRG path back in the 80s - is 50 years old today...
To celebrate, here's her magnificent (and only) hit Tell It To My Heart - and if that doesn't wake you up, I don't know what will!
Judging by her more recent pictures, I think she may have had some work done...

Love it! Classic. Happy Bday Taylor!
ReplyDeleteHow I LOVED THIS!!! And I thought the dancers in the video were so cool (OK, I was only 9 years old at the time).I finally bought the album on CD just a few days ago, and I have her Greatest Hits CD which I play every now and then.
ReplyDeleteShe did have several more hits in the US (and here in Iceland), including "Prove Your Love", "Heart Of Stone", "Cant Get Enough Of Your Love", "I'll Be Your Shelter" and her US #1 power ballad "Love Will Lead You Back". In the last 20 years she has mostly been visible on the US club chart, where she has raked up several dance hits. Her last Top 10 dance hit was "Floor On Fire" last year, which will be featured on a new Greatest Hits CD.
Happy birthday to Miss Dayne - and please stop with the plastic surgery sweetie, you already look way too scary!
"Prove Your Love" did in fact make the Top Ten here as well, but it was so ephemeral as to not make an impact on me. It was only this classic which made me sit up and take notice back in '88 - I was a little older, and in a very different world, at that time... Jx
DeleteOh my word
ReplyDeleteI love this but have never Never seen the video or knew her name
it was just always on every where
I was a little older than Barbarella-Galaxy and might have been a bit too preocupied to take account
love it
thanks for the post
Now you know her name - you can never forget her! Jx
