Our Patron Saint of Décolletage, Honolulu's finest, The Divine Miss M is - gulp! - 75 years old today!
We adore the woman.
By way of a tribute - among the many, many tributes I have paid to her over the years - here she is in partnership with a fellow Diva, paying tribute to her/their heroines of trash...
Many, many happy returns, Bette Midler (born 1st December 1945)
Oh, dear... I'm a terrible Gay. Of course, I know who Ms Midler is - and she is Fabulous! - but I don't really know any of her work. Hocus Pocus, of course. And I recall being most entertained by Big Business...
ReplyDeleteThe re-education programme starts right here, young lady! Try this, this and this for starters! Jx
DeleteMr. DeVice has homework!

DeleteCripes! Decades of Divaness to swot up on. I may be some time...
DeleteAnd the government has said there'll be fewer exams next year thanks to COVID, so it's continuous assessment, I'm afraid... Jx

ReplyDeleteYou are more than welcome, my sweet. Jx
Deleteno fucking way is she 75! damn gorgeous woman!
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to even begin to conceive that our "Bathhouse Betty" is seventy-five - it seems like only yesterday I first fell in love with her thanks to her Art or Bust TV extravaganza, yet that was itself 36 years ago..! Gawd, I am old. Jx
DeleteOh my! Where did I go wrong...
ReplyDeleteThat was an absolutely perfect way to start my day.Thank you
We all wish we could have been Bette Midler! Jx
DeleteI love Beaches, and For the Boys, and The First Wives Club!
ReplyDeleteSx
I never watched Beaches - too schmaltzy and girly from what I've heard - but I love her comedies, and For The Boys was brilliant. Jx
DeleteOh, yes, First Wives Club! I've seen that too. I do recall having several opportunities to watch Beaches, but passed them by for the same reason that you did, Jon.
DeleteIt's one of those films - live Love, Actually or French Lieutenant's Woman, Bridget Jones or Terms of Endearment etcetera, etcetera - that I can't ever imagine enjoying under any circumstances. Jx
DeleteShe is just awesome.
ReplyDeleteWell-deserved Patron Saint-hood, indeed. Jx
