The end is nigh, dear reader - and here are a few numbers I felt appropriate for this, a most welcome New Year's Eve.
Starting with an old favourite that features lyrics which perhaps express many people's feelings about 2020:
It's that little souvenir, of a terrible year
Which makes my eyes feel sore
...however, this one sums up my feelings a bit more succinctly, perhaps:
Regardless, no matter how much we have hated, and want to see the back of, 2020 - NYE is essentially an excuse for a party [and we're having ours via ZOOM later!], so let's get cracking!
Happy Brexit Day!
...and, of course, such a party would be incomplete without today's late, lamented birthday girl LaDonna Adrian Gaines!
Let's raise our glasses to a Happy, Happier NEW Year, everyone!
It ain't a party and the end of anything till Donna Summers Last Dance plays. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteA Happy New Year to you and the Madame!!!
Cheers, darling - Happy New Year! Let's keep the party rocking, regardless of anything life spits our way! I raise a glass of gin to 2021... Jx
DeleteHNY dear jon! and fuck 2020 in the arse with a spiked cactus!
ReplyDeleteLet's sing along with Miss Millie Jackson at the top of our lungs!
DeleteHappy New Year, Anne-Marie! Jx
Tin-Tin Out! Now there's a blast from the past. What a fabulously appropriate choice.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I thought so, too. Happy New Year, Mr DeVice! Jx
DeleteHappy New Year, Jon!!
ReplyDeleteSxxx
And to you Ms Scarlet! Jx
DeleteHappy New Year. I had never heard that version of Here's Where the Story Ends. I loved The Sundays version. I'll have to add that one to my collection. I clicked on Yazz, thinking it was Yaz (with Alison Moyet). What a surprise. Very fun song.
ReplyDeleteThat song with the Shelley Nelson vocals is undoubtedly my favourite! Here in the UK, "Yaz" was "Yazoo", but apparently they had to rename themselves because another band had bagged the name... Jx
DeleteThat is the biggest collection of Cornishware I have ever seen seen but the blue and white stripes against Blue Delft wallpaper Is just plain wrong !
ReplyDeleteBut Zena Skinner is just perfect. Jx
