Beethoven rolled over

Happy birthday Ludwig Van Beethoven, 250 years old today! You don't look a day over 249...

How about some - ahem - unusual versions of Beethoven's greatest music, by way of a celebration...

...first, on ukuleles...

...a double-bill of Latin music arrangements...

...and, finally - get your white flared suits and platform sole shoes on for this famous variation from Saturday Night Fever!

Oh, the classics...

  1. My local classical station is playing all Beethoven today in celebration! I have it on now, await the huge snow storm.

  2. I did like that "Beethoven in Havana" number. I would get my Cuban heels on, but I'm tall enough as it is...

  3. I'm surprised those nice young men with the cellos haven't done a bit of Beethoven?

    1. They certainly have - as I posted here, pre-pandemic, when the whole world had plans to celebrate Ludwig's birthday over the whole of 2020.

Then most of it had to be cancelled...

      Sigh. Jx

  4. Gosh what fun videos

Happy Birthday to truly Great composer.

I say composer rather than person as after listing to his life as well as his music on radio 3 for a full year, I feel I know him and he wasn't a nice person. His music though is a different matter.

    2. The "Beethoven-a-go-go" album cover tickled me! I guessed the slight "twist" on his music would appeal... Jx
