Totty of the Day
Today would have been the 55th birthday of the utterly gorgeous Jon-Erik Hexum, "star" of such American TV series as Voyagers, Hotel and Cover Up (of which only the second was ever shown in the UK). It was while playing around with a stunt gun on the set of the latter in 1984 that Mr Hexum accidentally shot himself through the head and died, aged just 26. So sad.
However, among the few works of art Mr Hexum left us as a legacy, one has instant camp appeal - the TV movie Making of a Male Model. I have never seen this epic in its entirety, but it appears to consist of endless scenes of Jon-Eric Hexum walking around half-naked, plus Joan Collins, dozens of pansy stereotypes, and possibly the most phallic after-shave bottle ever made. What more would you want?
Wow.
