A model life
Our Lilium martagon "Arabian Night" here at Dolores Delargo Towers has shrugged off the foul weather so far.
Oh, dear. Summer is definitely not planning to show its face any time soon...
Having braved the torrential downpours and general gloom that today has thrown at us, I think we are overdue a little wallow in the lives of impossibly glamorous people in exotic places, don't you? Admittedly, on this occasion, the "exotic place" is actually Hampstead, but we can dream...
It's Soft Tempo Lounge time again:
Sigh.

Hampstead! I bet they wish they'd stayed in Paris.
ReplyDeleteYep, hang on there, the sun will come out from 20th June. Maybe.

Thank you, Tomasz Schafernaker. Jx
DeleteI do like Tomasz!! He's very watchable.

I'd do more than just watch... Jx
DeleteWhat a gorgeous lily. And just as I'm pining for my long lost garden so much that I have taken to reading up on various plants I would have had a go at, if I still had the chance, up to and including an Arabian Jasmine.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful - smells delicious, too. Martagons adore slighly shady damp spots, so they seem to flourish in the same spot as our ferns in the garden.
DeleteAs for Arabian Jasmine, like Gardenia, I'm sure you can grow it indoors without too much problem...

I have rampant jasmine that needs serious "thinning." You'd be welcome to bring a hoe, but I think the commute's a bit much!

DeleteJon, you have transported me back to Belsize Village, 1968...xx
ReplyDeleteI bet you were a proper "Dolly Bird", weren't you? Jx
DeleteI was a "resting" actress/artists' model, so no, I don't think "Dolly Bird" applied! :-)
DeleteGarden Dating App...now there's an idea. patent it, quick!
More Dame Peggy Ashcroft than Judy Geeson? Jx
Deletehahaha!
DeleteI was slightly disappointed that the cute boy's scene as he cycled up the hill didn't go something like this. Perhaps with less bloodshed and folk dancing, though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful martagon lily! I must get some for my damp, shady area.
"Le Massacre de Belsize", perhaps?
DeleteWe're particularly impressed with the lily this year - I look forward to seeing which varieties you choose. We got ours from HW Hyde nursery, when they had a stand at one of the RHS London shows.
