Totty of the Season - with undergrowth!

Tyrone Power (5th May 1914 – 15th November 1958)

Channing Tatum (born 26th April 1980)

Ricky Nelson (8th May 1040 - 31st December 1985)

George Clooney (who was 60 on 6th May)

Gary Cooper (7th May 1901 – 13th May 1961)

David Beckham (born 2nd May 1975)

Bobby Vee (30th April 1943 – 24th October 2016)

...and, finally...

David Frederick Attenborough (born 8th May 1926)

Yes, indeed, Sir David Attenborough, veteran of myriad brilliant nature programes, erstwhile Director of BBC 2 and national treasure (and cute as fuck when he was young) celebrates his 95th birthday today!

All Hail.

Here are a few of my favourite clips from a variety of his programmes over the decades. Fuck knows what we'll do when he's gone...

Fab.

    1. It's always a strange concept that beautiful young people sometimes get to be so very old - one would hardly associate such a pillar of British culture and society to have ever have been someone we'd fancy, or appear alongside the likes of Mt Tatum or Mr Beckham in one of my "Totty" posts... 2. Many happy returns to Sir David!
I don't remember watching Life in the Undergrowth, but I do remember the others. The speeded up plants climbing up to the jungle canopy really are creepy and unnerving - worse even than those disgusting-looking silk-spinning larvae.

    1. His programmes have been an eternal source of fascination ever since Life On Earth in 1979. Generations of kids (and grown-ups too) have learned more about nature thanks to him than any amount of academic study. Jx

  3. I was hoping to see a young Roger Moore or 'Roger me more' as I'm fond of saying when watching The Saint and 0oh 0oh 7 when watching him in James Bond.

    1. He may possibly turn up when his "season" is upon us - however, this is late April/early May's buffet platter. Mr "Roger me" Moore was born in October...

Try this to keep you going. But probably not this. Jx

  4. Tyrone Power!! My mum used to like him. And so did I, but I will make do with George Cloony.
Many happy returns to David Attenborough! Is he wearing Converse in 1926? It's okay, I don't expect you to answer that!

    1. I'd "make do" with any of them!

Converse shoes have been going since 1908, believe it or not, but I doubt Sir David was wearing them in 1926 as he was a newborn baby... That photo is probably from the mid 1950s, an era when lots of men wanted to emulate the likes of James Dean (who was photographed wearing them) so I am not surprised a "cool cat" like young David had a pair. 5. I wish Sir David Attenborough would narrate some gay porn. It would be orgasmic on a whole 'nother level. :) Kizzes.

  6. He owns an impressive amount of gay porn according to Stephen Fry, but it just has animals in. Apparently they edit all the gay animal sex out of his programmes but I don't know what they do with it. I like to think he and Stephen Fry meet up and watch it together

  7. I'd seen the name Channing Tatum, but never a picture til now. I thought it was a girl!

    1. He was a sexy graduate of the "Ricky Martin backing dancer" and "Abercrombie & Fitch topless door-whore" academies - now he makes a fortune from franchising his Magic Mike brand of male strip shows across the world [London's was, pre-pandemic, in the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square]. Being in his 40s, nowadays he has filled out a bit and looks like he's been carved out of clay.

  8. Sir David Attenborough should be declared an International treasure! He narrates the beauty of the world to us all.

I think they did David Beckham a disservice with this overly-groomed artificial photoshoot. I'm sure I could bring out his enigmatic side next to a stream in a forest setting.

    1. I don't know about "bringing out his enigmatic side", but if I had Mr Beckham to myself in the middle of a forest...

      "Nurse! The screens!"
