Seems as though I'll ever be blue
It's bloody Monday again.
Groan.
Hey ho. Yesterday would have been the birthday of one of our greatest Patron Saints, Miss Judy Garland - so let's cheer ourselves up on this Tacky Music Monday with a rather faboo song'n'dance number, with Our Jude escorted up and down a fairytale staircase by a whole plethora of safety gays, some lovely dancers in chiffon, a parade of ladies in (very) big hats, with choreography by Busby Berkeley, and a song by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein III. How much more camp do you want it??!!
Have a good week peeps. I won't.
Judy Garland (born Frances Ethel Gumm, 10th June 1922 – 22nd June 1969)

Cheer up! I'm scouting pandanus...
ReplyDeleteI had almost forgotten about the penis tree photos... Jx
DeleteScarlet Gay....? I guess it has a ring to it.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!

Sounds like the title of a a pulp paperback from the 1950s... Jx
DeleteThat was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHollywood at its best... Jx
DeleteAnd to add to the camp content, the empire waistline is designed to disquise the future Sally Bowles residing in our Jude's rapidly expanding belly...
ReplyDeleteAh yes - I read that Miss Gumm was ushered into the set to do her numbers before the production was even finished in order to accommodate the impending Liza! Talk about "born into showbiz". She certainly was... Jx
DeleteAnd according to contemporary accounts, the irony of warbling, "WHO stole my heart away?" while pregnant was not lost on Garland!
DeleteSurely that should be "WHO stole my nutrients and my energy away? Who?"

Perhaps you should look into having a cavalcade of Safety Gays escort you to and from work to make your week more bearable? If things get really bad, they could also waft you to and from the photocopier or the tea room?
ReplyDeleteIn my head, I am always being escorted up and down a glittering staircase by a bevy of safety gays in tuxedos. Then I wake up. Sigh. Jx
